Terms of Service

These Terms of Service describe the basis on which readers may use the Branel Journal website, including its articles, correspondence channels, and related editorial material. By continuing to browse this website, a reader agrees to the terms set out below, which should be read together with our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.

1. Agreement and scope

These terms govern access to the Branel Journal website located at branel.info, including its homepage, article pages, the about and methodology pages, and the contact form. They apply from the date shown at the top of this page and remain in effect, as updated from time to time, for as long as a reader continues to use the site. If a reader does not agree with any part of these terms, the appropriate response is to discontinue use of the website. These terms sit alongside, and should be read together with, our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, and together the three documents form the complete basis on which the website is offered to readers.

2. Editorial purpose and content nature

Branel publishes English-language editorial content about evening routines, dietary supplement habits, food variety, movement, and daily recovery practices for adult men, with particular attention to readers in Jakarta and elsewhere in Indonesia. Articles are written for general informational and editorial purposes and reflect the observations, research summaries, and analysis of our editorial team at the time of publication. Content on this website is not a substitute for individual guidance from a qualified nutrition or wellness professional, and readers remain responsible for the decisions they make about their own daily routines. Nothing on this website should be read as a personalised recommendation for any specific reader's circumstances, and our editorial team does not correspond individually about a reader's own routine beyond general clarification of a published article.

3. Accuracy, updates and corrections

Our editorial desk works from published nutritional research, publicly available product information, and dated observations gathered by our writers, and every reasonable effort is made to keep this information accurate at the time of publication. Ingredient lists, product formulations, and publicly available research can change after an article is published, and Branel cannot guarantee that older articles reflect the most current information available on a given topic. Where a factual error is identified, Branel will correct the relevant article and, where practical, add a dated note explaining the nature of the correction, so that the editorial record remains transparent. Readers who believe they have identified an inaccuracy are encouraged to contact us using the details in Section 13, and we log the outcome of each such review internally even where no change to the published article is ultimately required.

4. Acceptable use of the website

Readers may browse the website, read individual articles, quote short passages with clear attribution to Branel, and link to public pages from their own websites or social media accounts. Readers may not attempt to interfere with the ordinary operation of the website, extract personal correspondence submitted by other readers, impersonate the publication or its staff, or reproduce substantial portions of an article without permission. Automated access to the website, such as through a script or crawler, should respect standard limits set out in our robots.txt file and must not place an unreasonable load on our servers. We reserve the right to restrict access for any visitor or system that we reasonably believe is acting contrary to this section, and we may take reasonable technical measures to protect the ordinary availability of the site for other readers.

5. Intellectual property

The original text, headings, editorial arrangement, and visual design of the Branel website belong to the publication or to the licensors who have granted us rights to use specific material. A reader is given a limited, non-exclusive, and revocable right to view this content for personal, non-commercial reading purposes. This right does not extend to republishing full articles on another website, incorporating our content into a commercial product, or removing attribution when quoting a passage. Any brand names, product names, or trademarks mentioned in our articles remain the property of their respective owners and are referenced solely for descriptive, editorial purposes, and no such reference should be read as an endorsement by, or affiliation with, the relevant trademark owner.

6. User submissions and correspondence

When a reader submits a message through the contact form, they confirm that the content of that message is their own and that it does not infringe the rights of any third party. Branel may use the substance of a message internally to respond to the reader, to consider a suggested correction, or to inform future editorial planning, but we will not publish the contents of a private message, including the sender's name or email address, without first seeking the sender's permission. Readers should avoid including sensitive personal information, financial details, or content belonging to a third party in any message sent to us. Handling of information submitted through the contact form is described in more detail in our Privacy Policy, including the specific retention period that applies to that correspondence.

7. Third-party links and references

Articles on this website may reference or link to third-party sources, including published research summaries, government resources, or product manufacturer pages, for the reader's further information. These references are provided for context and do not constitute an endorsement of the operator of that external site, and Branel is not responsible for the content, accuracy, or privacy practices of any website we do not operate ourselves. Readers who follow an outbound link do so at their own discretion and should review that destination's own terms and privacy notice before sharing any information there. We periodically review outbound links in older articles and remove or update any that are found to lead to a source that no longer exists.

8. Limitation of liability

The Branel website and its articles are provided on an "as available" basis, and while we take reasonable care in preparing our editorial content, we make no representation that the website will be free of interruption or error at all times. To the extent permitted by applicable Indonesian law, Branel and its editorial staff will not be liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from a reader's use of, or reliance on, information published on this website. This limitation does not exclude any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded under Indonesian consumer protection or data protection law, including the UU PDP, and nothing in this section is intended to limit a reader's statutory rights under that framework.

9. Governing law and dispute resolution

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Indonesia, without regard to conflict-of-law principles that might otherwise apply a different jurisdiction's rules. Any dispute arising from a reader's use of this website that cannot be resolved informally through direct correspondence with our editorial office will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts located in Jakarta, Indonesia. Before pursuing a formal dispute, we encourage readers to first raise the matter with us directly using the contact details in Section 13, since many concerns can be resolved through ordinary correspondence without the need for a formal proceeding.

10. Availability and technical interruptions

Branel makes reasonable efforts to keep the website available and to schedule any planned maintenance at times that minimise disruption to readers, but we do not undertake that the site will be available without interruption at every moment. From time to time the site may be temporarily unavailable due to routine maintenance, hosting provider outages, or circumstances outside our reasonable control, and Branel is not liable for any inconvenience arising from such an interruption. Where an outage is expected to be prolonged, we will aim to note this on our social media presence or through any other channel reasonably available to us at the time.

11. Severability

If any individual provision of these terms is found by a competent court to be invalid or unenforceable under applicable Indonesian law, that finding will not affect the validity of the remaining provisions, which will continue to apply in full. In such a case, Branel will replace the affected provision with a valid provision that most closely reflects the original commercial and editorial intent of the term that was found unenforceable. This approach ensures that a single disputed clause does not undermine the overall framework these terms are intended to establish between Branel and its readers.

12. Changes to these terms

Branel may update these Terms of Service from time to time to reflect changes in the website's operation, applicable law, or editorial practice. Where a change is substantive, we will update the date shown at the top of this page and record a summary of the change in the revision history in Section 14. Continued use of the website after an update takes effect constitutes acceptance of the revised terms; a reader who does not agree with an updated term should discontinue use of the site from that point forward, and earlier archived versions of these terms remain available on request.

13. Complaints and contact procedure

Questions or concerns about these terms can be sent to [email protected], raised by telephone at +62 21 2184 7206 during office hours, or sent by post to Jalan MH Thamrin No. 1, 10340 Jakarta Pusat, DKI Jakarta, Indonesia. We aim to acknowledge a query within five business days and to provide a substantive response within thirty calendar days of receipt. Where a complaint concerns the handling of personal information rather than these terms specifically, it will be handled under the procedure described in our Privacy Policy, and we will redirect the correspondence internally rather than asking the reader to resubmit it.
